It is not applied to stars, or any other celestial object that is larger than a star or the Solar System, such as a `F33f`_`[galaxy`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Galaxy]`_`f. The terms for extrasolar examples of Solar System bodies are:

• `F33f`_`[Extrasolar planet`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Extrasolar_planet]`_`f, also called an "exoplanet"

• `F33f`_`[Exoasteroid`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Exoasteroid]`_`f, an extrasolar asteroid

Some Solar System object classes, such as `F33f`_`[minor planets`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Minor_planet]`_`f, `F33f`_`[dwarf planets`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Dwarf_planet]`_`f and `F33f`_`[Trans-Neptunian objects`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Trans-Neptunian_object]`_`f have not been detected outside the Solar System.
